Paul Skratch covered it already by using the weight plate that comes with shure m44-7 - btw thanks Paul for the idea Another option is using the Technics headshell weight (comes with +4g and +2g). Only thing is you have to drill a hole thru the plastic headshell. anyway here is the finished product

I take a less nuanced approach and simply rubberband a nickel around the top of the headshell....wrap it around about three times and it stays tracking pretty well

@dj Henry - I have a dime on there w double sided sticky tape for now. The financial returns have doubled jsabutin - looks like you went with the 4g. How did the 2g work? I personally like using as little weight as possible on my 1200s due to needle wear. Figure it might translate over to the portable needle as well.
